REALM will be at this year’s Pima Smartscape FREE Sustainable Landscapes EXPO this coming March at 4210 N. Campbell (enter from Roger Rd., east. of Campbell).

There will be 30+ Exhibitor/Demonstration Booths, Food Trucks, Education & Activities for adults and children, music, and an all-ages obstacle course!

We’ll share more details like exact date/times as soon as we receive that information.

HELPFUL TIP: PRUNE ROSES

It's time for some tough love for your roses:

  • Remove all branches (especially twiggy growth) except for 5-10 of the main canes
  • Reduce remaining, main canes to approx. 15"
  • Remove dead canes
  • Remove crossing branches
  • Strip leaves from remaining canes
  • Make all cuts about 1/4" above a bud-eye that is facing out from the center of the bush
  • Some recommend sealing the fresh pruning cuts with Elmer’s glue to prevent entry by pests and pathogens

The class combines a PowerPoint presentation with in-the-field experience observing pruning techniques on the grounds of Tohono Chul. Isenberg will provide resource recommendations and take-home materials to help you succeed in your own yard! Masks will be required while indoors in keeping with Tohono Chul’s current Covid-19 policies.
